Project Hunger
Manor, Texas
In America, nobody should go to bed hungry.
In Manor, Texas, you can make sure everyone has enough to eat every day
What is Project Hunger - Manor Texas?
Project Hunger mission is to decrease the number of families experiencing food insecurity (when people don't have enough to eat and don't know where their next meal will come from) in Manor, Texas. According to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and US Census data it is estimated that 1,427 families in Major are experiencing some amount of food insecurity.
In order to decrease food insecurity, Project Hunger strives to increase the capacity of local food pantries by helping to get more cans and boxes of food into the pipeline though coordinating food drives, community meals and other initiatives. We are also looking for ways to increase capacity by expanding food distribution days, times and sites, and helping to coordinate all food distribution efforts to better serve families in need.
For 2026, we have set a goal of donating 18,000 cans/boxes to local food pantries, that’s 1,500 cans/boxes of food per month. We are looking for local businesses to “Sponsor a Month” and donate 1,500 units of food or contribute $1,500 so we can purchase food. If you want to conduct a food drive, please let us know.
What You Should Read Regularly on Our Site: We keep an up-to-date calendar of all the food pantries and organizations offering meals in Manor each month. It’s in the blue box labeled - Food Events in Manor. ALSO read the orange box labeled - How Can I Feed My Family - A Gameplan.

If I did not have enough food to feed my family here is how I would use some of the resources available in Manor. This example is for a family of four:

Third, I would go to the Eternal Faith Baptist Church which operates a drive-thru food pantry and the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month from 9-11 a.m. You will get 2 more bags of groceries, including breakfast items, as well as meat. Bread and produce is also available much of the time.
Fourth, I would visit the African American Youth Harvest Foundation. It operates a food pantry that is open on Wednesdays and Fridays from 11:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. On the second Saturdays each month, the pantry is also open from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Finally, I would visit the Manor Presbyterian Church for their Meals with Manor program the last Wednesday of the month from 6 - 7 p.m. You can get a free hot meal and pick up some toiletries and other items from their mini-pantry.
